Devadathan Nair Appointed Advisor to the SCO Trade Council

The SCO Trade Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Devadathan Nair as Advisor to the SCO Trade Council, recognizing his outstanding contributions to international media, public relations, government relations, and India–Russia cooperation.
Mr. Devadathan Nair is a distinguished journalist, communications strategist, and community leader with decades of experience in international broadcasting, public diplomacy, media relations, and cross-border engagement. He currently serves as a Faculty Lecturer in Journalism at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), where he mentors future media professionals and contributes to academic excellence in journalism and communications.
He is also the President of the non-profit organisation “NRI Club” (Blizhniy Club), dedicated to supporting the Indian diaspora in the Russian Federation. Through the Club, he has played a significant role in fostering stronger community engagement, promoting entrepreneurship, and facilitating cultural and educational exchanges between India and Russia.
In addition, Mr. Nair serves as the Official Representative of The Times of India Group in Russia, strengthening media collaboration and enhancing communication between institutions and stakeholders across both countries.
A seasoned expert in Government Relations (GR), Public Relations (PR), strategic communications, and international media, Mr. Nair’s professional journey spans journalism, broadcasting, public affairs, and institutional communications. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Kerala and a Degree in Journalism from RUDN University, Moscow.
Through initiatives such as the trilingual Varta Patrika and Ayurveda Magazine, Mr. Nair has consistently promoted Indian culture, traditional knowledge, business networking, educational cooperation, and people-to-people diplomacy, making a lasting contribution to strengthening India–Russia relations.
As Advisor to the SCO Trade Council, Mr. Nair will provide strategic guidance on media outreach, public diplomacy, international communications, diaspora engagement, and initiatives aimed at deepening economic, educational, and cultural cooperation among the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
