H.E. Mr. Y.K. Sailas Thangal, Ambassador of India, hosted a Reception on 27 Jan 2026 in Almaty to celebrate the 77th Republic Day of India.
H.E. Mr. Abdrashov Zhanibek, Ambassador-at-Large, MFA of Kazakhstan, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
In his address, Ambassador Thangal highlighted India’s democratic values and the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. H.E. Mr. Zhanibek appreciated the strong India–Kazakhstan partnership and conveyed warm greetings on this occasion.
Cultural performances by artists from the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Astana, and the Centre for Indian Classical Dance mesmerized the guests. A special display of Tea Board of India products and a tasting ceremony led by two tea sommeliers from India added flavour to the evening. The event also showcased ODOP products.
