SCO Trade Council Delegation Welcomes Myanmar President in India

The SCO Trade Council welcomed H.E. Min Aung Hlaing, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, during his visit to India, marking an important step toward strengthening bilateral relations, trade, and investment cooperation between the two nations.

Discussions focused on enhancing economic engagement, promoting investments, and expanding collaboration across key sectors including infrastructure, energy, agriculture, healthcare, and digital connectivity. The engagement also highlighted opportunities arising from the Myanmar–India Trade and Investment Conclave, which brought together stakeholders from both countries to explore new avenues for business partnerships.

India remains one of Myanmar’s key trading partners, with bilateral trade reaching approximately USD 1.76 billion in FY 2023–24. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fostering stronger economic ties, encouraging business-to-business cooperation, and advancing regional connectivity.

The SCO Trade Council views this engagement as a positive step toward building stronger partnerships, promoting mutual prosperity, and enhancing cooperation between India and Myanmar for a shared and sustainable future.
